A group of librarians sets off on adventures in an effort to save mysterious, ancient artifacts.
The Library has chosen a new group to help safeguard magical cursed artifacts throughout time and around the world. An art historian, a thief , a mathematician and a warrior are sent through the doorway to help bring back the others, who are protected by the Library from the evil recently released.
1. Cheap effects almost as if done as part of a high school class project. (a.)Lots of blue electrical effects showing up everywhere and are so fake they are just laughable. (b.) Glowing eyes, mostly red of course, and probably cheaper than the customary colored contact lenses that often show up. c.) The recently popular in film of tiny swirling particles (black in this case) representing the physical or spiritual either disintegrating or forming of something. (d.) The fire explosions are decades old CGI fakey. Couldn't burn a piece of paper. 2. Acting that is so juvenile and mechanical it too comes off as very faked. 3. Lots of tech stuff and tech/sci Hollywood speak that makes no sense to anyone who passed their high school science courses. Dialogue has no substance, rivaling sugar for nutritional content. 4. Eye candy actors chosen as selling points and to profit under specific viewing audience demographics. A little surprisingly - just one Asian; no customary nerdy goofballs, and most surprisingly are no Afro-Amer anywhere except a couple of short scene spots. 5. Basic intelligence rating near zero with the wormhole time travel that, again, any half way decent high school science student would laugh at as ludicrous.
Television has been missing something and it&#39;s called The Librarian. It&#39;s a mix between The Warehouse, Indiana Jones and Relic Hunter with a little bit of Lara Croft thrown in for good measure. It&#39;s a ridiculous yet serious adventure drama with plenty of action and supernatural themes. If this sounds up your alley then I definitely recommend you watch it.<br/><br/>When I first started watching the show I realised that Noah Wyle&#39;s character who is the main librarian in the movie series was not featured in the lead cast which worried me a little. Thankfully the show works well with him being a supporting star. In fact his incredibly over the top theatrics may have brought down the show if he was in every episode.<br/><br/>I honestly look forward to watching a new episode of this show each week. It&#39;s lighthearted adventurous fun.

The show premieres in TNT on December 7, 2014.
